Group Information & Bios
The group's repertoire consists of exciting, danceable rhythm and blues, rock and beautiful, moving rock and soul ballads. Material is drawn from such dependable sources as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, The Isley Brothers, Chaka Kahn & Rufus, B.B. King, the Doobie Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Jeffrey Osbourne, as well as more current artists such as Montell Jordan and Maxwell.
Kate Hanni is a dynamic vocalist and musician capable of delivering a range of soul, rock and jazz styles from Aretha Franklin to Allanh Miles, Chrissie Hynde, Chaka Khan, Janis Joplin and more. She sang professionally for many years and has delighted audiences throughout California, Western Canada and Hong Kong! Kate is also a real estate agent in Napa.
Tim Hanni MW (guitar) is a wine geek and President of WineQuest that really would not be playing with the band unless he was married to Kate. He owns several expensive guitars and gets the gigs due to his status in the wine industry.
Reed Fromer (lead vocals, keyboards) is one of the strongest male vocalists in Northern California. Also one of the more familiar ones - he was "The Lucky Guy", the singer of the ever-popular "So nice, low-price store" jingle series for Lucky Markets. He is also an award-winning songwriter (with material covered by Gregg Allman and Gloria Estefan among others). He produces demos for other songwriters, composes music scores for PBS documentaries, and works as an accompanist and director for youth gospel choirs in San Francisco and Marin. His soulful vocal style inspires comparisons with Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, James Ingram, and Steve Winwood.
Artie Wafer (bass) is one of the most skilled and energetic bassists in the Bay Area - not to mention the happiest-looking; audience members often comment that they've rarely seen a musician who seems to enjoy himself so much. Artie has recorded with Sylvester and with Robert Winter & Fall, toured extensively with Johnny "Guitar" Watson, and has backed Barry White in concert.
John Bishop (lead guitar) developed his craft at the Berklee College of Music, and has backed numerous blues and soul artists while strengthening his reputation as one of the area's most soulful and dynamic young guitarists.
Tony Langford (drums) grew up in Detroit, and honed his skillful and tasteful chops backing some of Motown's biggest stars - Martha Reeves, The Spinners, Eddie Kendricks - while still in his teens.
